How Karen and Steve Met

Steve and I met the fall of 1977
We were both attending BYU, and I spotted him at church the very first Sunday. We were both in the same wa
rd. The following Monday we went to our branch president's home for family home evening, and I again spotted him and watched him most of the evening.
The next Sunday when we got to church I pointed him out to my room mates and told them I was going to go on a date with him. They all giggled and said "ya, whatever"About two weeks later, we were divided in family home evening groups, and we were meeting at our apartment for the first one. There was a knock at the door, and I went to the door to answer it. Oh my goodness, guess who was standing in my doorway, the young man I had been watching for 3 weeks! I was so shocked, I shut the door in his face, and went into the bedroom to tell myroommates "you are not going to believe who is at our front, oh my gosh, I shut the door in his face"
Kathy jumped up, and went to the door. Steve was walking down the balcony to leave. She called him back. We had family home evening, and after the lesson we visited forquite a while. He called the next week looking for help to sell Rodeo tickets, he saidhe needed help Thurs. Friday and Saturday. Could we help him out (he says he was calling to ask all his family home evening sisters) I didn't ask the rest of them. I told him I could help him all three days! And thus....... begin a relationship.

Howard and Rea

Our family is our most precious possession! Our desire would be to have you all live close around us and be able to have you drop in for frequent visits, but since each has the responsibility to provide for his own family, and serve in the kingdom, we find ourselves scattered in many different directions. We are so grateful for your desire and for modern technology whereby we can keep in touch with each other. We feel it very rewarding and necessary to rejoice together over special occasions and successes; to cry together when sorrow occurs; to laugh together over "funnies" that happen as you rear our sweet grandchildren; to enjoy pictures of each other so we can recognize each other when we can be together again. We want to grow together spiritually and we feel it important to unite our faith and prayers with each other when we are confronted with challenging situations. We want each and everyone to be successful! We love you muchooo.
